You've heard of sun lotion, right? Well, this song is about sun potion. That is to say, some people think the sun has medicinal uses... or special powers, etc.
However, before we talk about the benefits of the sun, we'd like to point out that you should think FIRST. The sun is one of the largest threats to our youth. (Please click here for more information on the dangers of the sun.)
Now, about the power of the sun... some people believe the sun helps make you healthy... that it gives you certain vitamins and so on. And, what about all the civilizations throughout time... like the Aztecs, Rah... and, hey... how about holidays of Witches:
Since the Sun is considered to represent the Male Divinity in many Pagan Traditions, the Winter Solstice (Yule) is celebrated as the "return of the Sun God" where He is reborn of the Goddess.
It seems like there are all sorts of beliefs about the power of the sun. Does it have some special power? Is it magical? I do not know. All I do know is... everyone I've ever asked loves a nice, blue, sunshiny day. They say... it makes them feel good!
A friend of mine, aiax, tries to stay that way. This song is about/for him... even when it is cloudy out my window, he shines in like the sun.
May he bring you "your own little portion of potion".
I like to stay on this side of the bright sunshiny day,
Wouldn't you say,
Let the sun shine in,
Oh, won't ya,
Let the sunshine in!
Yeah! Let the sunshine in, again, in, again.
And, why not always keep it that way?
That's the way it should stay?
Upon me and my kin,
Oh, please let the shine in,
Again and again.
Let the,
Won't ya,
Let the sun shine in?
Let the sun shine down!
Wipe away any frown.
Please, let the sun shine down,
Please, let it shine in again,
Please, let it wipe away any frown.
