What Went Wrong (With MP3.com)

Enemy Propaganda VIDEO RUSHES & MULTIMEDIA
Alive Propaganda Version
This version features the thrashing of an Ibanez electric 6-string guitar to an electronica sort-a beat. The moving pictures include actual screenshots from my computer about MP3.com lawsuits. There are also pictures from World War II and Vietnam War propaganda teams.

Singer/Songwriter Version
When I think about names like Neil Young, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, Kevin Cronin, Lindsey Buckingham and Rodger Hodgson, I get a shiver up my spine. Not only do this guys write the songs, but they sing 'em, too. Sometimes they do it with only a piano or guitar, exposing their soul to the world. People such as these influenced this acoustic piano version. In particular, the line that goes: "They care not of our pain nor tears!"

Jazz Improv. Version
"They went wrong when they forgot the song," is the line that encouraged this impromptu adaptation. A trumpet is the featured instrument (in an attempt to mimic what MP3.com would sound like... if they could talk.)

... for those of you just tuning in:

This is a webpage about the making of music videos for the What Went Wrong (With MP3.com) Project.

A series of demo videos is being produced. Each has its own point-of-view. But, all of them share several things in common... including the same set of song lyrics about MP3.com. Stomp Em Out

Lyrics

What Went Wrong (With MP3.com)

Prelude:
Like the counter culture of the 60's,
Have they evolved into their enemies?
Or, care they not of our longevity?
To be crushed by their own density...?
Thank you gravity.

This is a song,
About what is wrong,
With MP3...
Dot Com.

Chorus:
Through a guise of industry fears,
Recruitin' up my innocent peers,
They care not of our pain nor tears,
Just tryin' ta turn the ad biz gears.

As ya listen to me,
Ain't it plain ta see,
'tisn't MP3,
That bothers me.

Chorus

MP3 Army For, do they even know an MP3,
Or, are dollar signs all they see?
Makin' monkeys they seem to be,
Outta both you... and of me.

Chorus

They went wrong,
They forgot the song,
Won't be long,
Until they're gone.

Chorus

They went wrong,
They forgot the song,
Won't be long,
Until they're gone.
